Baldwin 704 Bass Cherry Red 1969-70
Baldwin acquired the Burns guitar company in 1965. For a while that carried on just re badging the Burns models but in 1967 they introduced the '700' series ( a 6 string, 12 string and 4 string bass). Loosely modelled on the Gibson 300 series. The bodies and pickups were italian and some of the hardware was carried over from burns.
This 704 is a 2 owner bass with original baldwin case. Condition is structurally very good although, as to be expected there are lacquer cracks showing in some areas. It plays brilliantly and sounds great....has original cardboard control rings !! They are very difficult to date accurately but we believe this one to be circa 1969/70.
A good solid investment and very usable guitar.
